Time…Where did it go?

You know the old saying “time flies when you’re having fun”, well it is so true.

As of today, I’m officially in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy. According to the baby books this should be the easiest few months and I should be getting a little pep back in my step. And thank goodness because this Momma-To-Be has felt more like a zombie going through the motions more than anything else.

With less than 200 days to go I know that this time will fly by so fast and Will and I really want to make the most of it.

So in order to make this a summer to remember and plan all the “baby free” activities possible I’ve decided to start what I like to call a Pre-Baby Bucket List (LOL! I’m so dramatic!). Here’s a short preview:

#1: Travel to Kansas City
#2: Go to a Cubs Game (Cubs vs. Royals! Yes, Please!!!)
#3: Go to a waterpark
#4: Go to a themepark
#5: Travel to Memphis
#6: Eat our way through Memphis (Man vs. Food Style)
#7: Go to the Zoo
#8: Tour Graceland
#9. Take in an art exhibit
#10. Attend the Iowa State Fair
#11. Enjoy a corndog and lemonade at the Iowa State Fair!
#12. Attend a weekend event at Wichita River Festival
#13. Go to an I-Cubs Game
#14. Go to a Wichita Wingnuts Game
#15. Enjoy a weekend on the Plaza

Sound like a fun and busy summer to me, and I can’t wait!!!

Baby Update!

On Monday we had our 10 week appointment and another chance to see our little peanut! And Wow…I can’t believe how much our little one has grown already. At our 1st appointment I was 6 weeks and 3 days and the Baby measures at .36 cm. As of Monday the Baby was 3.59 cm with a strong heartbeat at 174.

Hearing the heartbeat for the first time was so emotional and shocking, and makes everything seem so real!

Please keep me and our little peanut in your prayers. I hoping for a healthy, happy baby come October 7, 2011!
Here's a picture of our little miracle....Enjoy!

Boy or Girl?

So…I’ll be 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow and the question on everyone’s mind is….Are we having a boy or a girl? Now the answer to this question won’t happen for another 10 weeks or so, but still it seems everyone has their own opinion and/or nickname for this little bun in the oven.

Culprit #1:

Me! LOL! Yep…I think for sure we are having a boy. I have no idea why…but to me…it feels like a boy. Yes, yes, yes…I know I’ve never been pregnant before and have nothing to compare anything to, but this mama-to-be thinks there is a little boy brewing in the belly. LOL!!
As for nicknames for our baby to be I really don’t have a consistent nickname other than peanut….which I find cute and my husband finds crazy! But he loves me nonetheless.

Culprit #2 and #3:

My parents. Yes, Grandpa and Grandma Miller have their own theory about the baby to be and they are convinced it’s a girl. I keep asking them why they think it’s a girl and they simple reply…because it is. Not too much help if you ask me. They are true to the convictions on this one and are sure it’s a girl.

As for nicknames they have a few. The first official nickname for our sweet little baby is Blueberry! Yep...that’s right Blueberry. It’s been from about day one of my pregnancy.
The other nickname they’ve adopted recently is Sophia. This nickname came about when we were discussing when I would be able to find out the sex of the baby and noticed they would be on vacation in Italy during that time. So….that means our baby girl (since they know it’s a girl…lol) is named Sophia for right now. LOL! My parents are crazy, but I love them and wouldn’t have it any other way. LOL!

For right now we will all have to wait as I continue to care for my little peanut, and we will see who’s right in the end. Either way…all I want is a happy and healthy bundle of joy!

In like a Lion! Out like a Lamb?

Well I’m officially 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant today and I’ve been feeling great! No morning sickness, no evening sickness, no symptoms really other than being a little more tired than usual (and feeling very, very lucky about that.)

Well…that was until this weekend when this pregnancy hit me like a ton of bricks! I was sick and sick and sick again, tired, huge headache, sore breasts and did I mention I was sick. I could not stop the nausea. It was awful.

However, for those of you who know me well…I am a glass half full kind of girl. Therefore...I have a theory. Since my pregnancy is coming in like a Lion… our sweet little baby will come out like a Lamb. Don't you think?!?

Cheers to wishful thinking!
